Matt and Trey Poke Fingers in Scientology's Eye

Rumors abound that "control enthusiast" Tom Cruise threatened to pull out of the anticipated MI:3 publicity onslaught unless Comedy Central agreed not to show re-runs of the "Trapped in the Closet" South Park episode (which can be viewed here), which satirizes rumors of Cruise's sexuality, and Scientology, and was behind the departure of nine-year show veteran Isaac Hayes, the voice of Chef, and a Scientologist himself. (Paramount is producing the MI:3 movie, and, like Comedy Central, is owned by Viacom.)

South Park masterminds Trey Parker and Matt Stone are still showing serious cojones by continuing to speak their minds on the subject, this week releasing a statement, which includes these gems:

"So, Scientology, you have won THIS battle, but the million-year war for Earth has just begun. Temporarily anozinizing our episode will NOT stop us from keeping Thetans forever trapped in your pitiful man-bodies. Curses and drat! You have obstructed us for now, but your feeble bid to save humanity will fail! Hail Xenu!!!"

Freaking awesome.
