I Did It

Last night. Bad Dog. Slightly less than five minutes. No tomatoes or pineapples were injured in the filming of my stand-up debut. I didn't know how to talk into the mic (holy dumb!). I didn't puke. I didn't blank. There was laughter. But I have a lot of bugs to work out.

Guess that energy transfer worked!

More details (and the auction-mandated video clip) soon.

W00t!

Go Bella! Any stage performance without the applied introduction of produce is a win!!

Congratulations Bella....I saw a claim that most comedians need something like a hundred hours on stage before they're truly comfortable and that's working with basically the same five minutes of material.

If you got some laughs the first time through, that's actually very good.

Thanks, guys, yes, indeed, more and more experience is what I need.

A good friend of mine who's a brilliant stand-up said "at least twenty times" before I'll have any idea what I'm doing, where I'm coming from, what my real style is, what I really want to say, etc.

When I stepped offstage after my first time, I got an invitation from a local producer to pop up in his New Faces showcase in a few weeks, which I will do if I can get over my illness and get a bunch more open mics under my belt.

Practice, practice, practice.

Woo hoo! Loved the clip. I bet your real gig was at least as funny.

Next time I'm in Chicago will you hire me as your professional fruit & vegetable thrower? I work for cheap.

CP, please, yes, if you are happy being paid in the fruit you throw, you are HIRED!
