"Honey, Your Coffee's Undrinkable!"

This old commercial is hilarious and infuriating at the same time.

I watch it and I think, "Thank god I'm a modern woman. Thank god for birth control, education, and my ability to be independent, make my own choices, and be with a man because I respect him, admire him, and feel affection for him, and not because I'm financially dependent on him."

Also, Folger's Instant has tasted like crap for almost 40 years. Up yours, Harvey.

At least they didn't show the editors cut where Harvey back-hands her and, on his way out the door, yells "my pot pie had better be ready when I come home, woman!"

That is indeed hilarious. In a weird way I kind of like instant coffee, with cream & sugar. Tastes nothing like real coffee though.

Oh. My. God.

Brain shutting off due to inability to verbalize how offended I am.

Harvey: almost as good as fresh jerked? No... wait... surely there is a better joke... "Harvey? You know what I want for MY birthday?... A divorce."

Misogeny makes Leigh's brain not work...

I think I just puked in my mouth a little.

Nellie: yeah, with that kind of nasty verbal abuse, it's a short step away to "don't flinch when I throw things at you!"

CP: Folgers looks like what's left after you make coffee. And it's the only product that can make the color brown seem unnatural.

Leigh: "Fresh jerked" works for me.

Melissa: No, that's just the aftertaste of mountain grown Folger's.

Wow,this must have been pre-Mrs. Olson, the nice Scandinavian lady who helped housewives fix their marriages with an early version of Java. You would think with Starbucks these days, that the divorce rate would have dropped dramatically.

Holy shit. If I acted like that, that next pot of fresh hot coffee would end up poured in my lap as I slept.

Chance - I believe I saw Mrs. Olson in a video YouTube offered me as "related." I hate her as much as I hate Harvey. The only proper response to these young wives' puzzlements is a rolling pin hurled through the kitchen window and a call to arms.

Bubs - would that be mountain grown sleeping lap coffee?

Geez, guys, I don't know what all the fuss is about. The poor guy just wants a decent cup of coffee...
