It's So Clear

Are gay people shorter than straight people?

One thing most people don't realize is that marriage as a legal institution between one man and one woman isn't nearly as "old" or "traditional" as people think. I find it especially bizarre that the Mormon Church paid for so much of the no on 8 campaign. It wasn't that long ago that the Mormons were the biggest threat to "conventional" marriage in American culture.

Yes gay people are 6 inches shorter than their heterosexual counterparts, on average. Heh.

That's the thing - marriage is a civil institution as much as a religious one. One religion shouldn't get to impress their definition of it on everyone else, and change law to reflect religious beliefs.

I don't understand people who think that this ISN'T a civil rights issue.

Also, I don't know that many short gays.

That is a pretty powerful way to get that point across. Making signs that point out how banning gay rights is like segregation and using that methos as a campaign--I bet that would open some eyes. The sad thing is, I bet people would buy into it and be happy the signs are there. Anyways, Kudos to that photographer.
