Tom, I would say that some of my favorite shows were probably before your time. Shows like "Playhouse 90," "The Defenders" . . . old-fashioned stuff that was more like theater than modern television. Of all time? Definitely "The Honeymooners." Art Carney and Jackie Gleason were both friends of mine and they were brilliant together! As for today's shows . . . of course, "Seinfeld." But most of the shows I watch these days are being done by HBO.
Ricky Gervais is letting rip with a bunch of silly podcasts.
Episode 1 December 5 2005 - In which Ricky, Steve and Karl discuss ...the pros and cons of technological invention, leading on to Karl's Malthusian concerns and a possible solution. There's a digression into the extra sensory perception of early hominids. Oh, and some Monkey News of course. Plus strange tales about lethal drinking vessels and stately homes.
