My pal FourFour has enlightened me to the fact that the lovely and vivacious Jerri Blank (Amy Sedaris' character in "Strangers With Candy") actually has a real-life inspiration - high school speaker and walking cautionary tale Florrie Fisher. Why didn't I know this before?
"50-year-old Florrie made a name for herself in the early '70s by traveling to high schools and pretty much assaulting assembled students with her tales of 25 years of hard living on the street as a drug addict and whore."
FourFour also provides links to MP3s, and clips, which are hilarious and bizarre.
