Kumail on Saturday Night Live!

Our sweet Emily Gordon has informed us that KUMAIL IS GOING TO BE ON SNL TONIGHT!

I’m not kidding! They called him in two days ago to play an Indian reporter, and he’s been in rehearsals all day. Tune in tomorrow night to watch the sketch about reporters, and bampsh! There he’ll be!

Holy flipping shnit!!

Watching for him now. How cool is that!

That's funny, I just watched the sketch - literally ten minutes ago - and then read this. Mental. It was probably the best sketch that I saw, too.

I saw it and was surprised even though I don't know him. He represented Indians well, but it's the typical stereotypical Indian role of a guy with a heavy Indian accent. At least he was a reporter and not a bumbling fool like the way they portray Indians on most shows in the U.S.

Well, Kumail does have an accent. I didn't see it, but I'd question whether he was doing it for effect.

I didn't see it, and the link that Emily put up to the YouTube clip got yanked already. Kumail is actually from Pakistan, and he does have a fairly strong (but understandable) accent. I hope it was awesome!

I finally watched it off the DVR and feel dumb for having posted that last comment. He did indeed have a cartoonish Indian accent that served no purpose.

Dan - that explains Atul's comment, then. :)

I still have not seen it yet! Pooh.

Kumail gets serious points for being one of two people in the episode who doesn't read off of cue cards (the other being Cameron Diaz?!)

I saw it and wondered about the accent too. I agree with IR in that it was the best sketch in the show

I was able to see it Saturday night, but it sucks that this sketch is not up on Hulu, despite other sketches from that ep being up there.
